What is FUE Hair Transplant?
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is the most advanced and widely used hair transplant technique in the world. At Galata Hair Clinics, FUE is our primary procedure β it involves extracting individual hair follicles from a donor area (usually the back and sides of the scalp) and implanting them precisely into the thinning or bald areas.
Unlike older methods, FUE leaves no linear scar. Each follicle is removed individually with a tiny punch tool, making recovery faster and results completely natural-looking.
β Most popular worldwide β FUE is chosen by over 80% of hair transplant patients globally due to its natural results and minimal recovery time.
How FUE Works β Step by Step
Free Consultation & Hair Analysis
Our surgeons assess your hair loss pattern, donor area quality, and design a natural hairline suited to your face structure.
Shaving & Local Anaesthesia
The donor area is shaved and local anaesthetic is applied so you feel no pain during the procedure. You remain awake and comfortable throughout.
Follicle Extraction
Using a micro-punch tool (0.6β1.0mm), individual follicular units are carefully extracted one by one from the donor area, preserving the follicle's root and structure.
Channel Opening
Tiny channels are created in the recipient area at the correct angle and direction to ensure the transplanted hair grows naturally with your existing hair.
Graft Implantation
Each harvested follicle is carefully placed into the prepared channels. The surgeon pays close attention to density, direction, and natural hairline design.
Aftercare & Recovery
You receive full aftercare instructions. Most patients return to normal activity within 3β5 days. Redness fades within 7β10 days.
Who is FUE Suitable For?
FUE is ideal for patients experiencing:
- Male-pattern baldness (receding hairline, crown thinning)
- Thinning hair that hasn't fully progressed to complete baldness
- Hair loss due to trauma, burns, or scarring
- Patients who want to wear their hair short (no linear scar)
- Those who have had previous hair transplants and want to add density
β οΈ A personal consultation is required to determine if you are a good candidate. Factors like donor hair quality, scalp elasticity, and degree of hair loss all play a role.

Recovery Timeline
Day 1β3: Post-Procedure
Some redness, swelling and small scabs are normal. Sleep elevated, avoid touching the grafts.
Day 7β14: Scabs Fall Off
Scabs naturally shed. First wash is done gently per our instructions. Most return to work by day 5.
Week 3β6: Shock Loss Phase
Transplanted hairs shed temporarily β this is completely normal and expected. The follicle roots remain alive.
Month 3β4: New Growth Begins
Fine new hairs begin emerging. You will start to see the first real signs of your new hairline.
Month 6β8: Significant Growth
About 50β60% of the final result is visible. Hair becomes thicker and more dense.
Month 12β18: Full Results
Your complete, permanent result is visible. Hair can be cut, styled, and coloured normally.
